Chronology of the Tragic Story of Junko Furuta, a beautiful girl who was kidnapped, forced to kill by Yakuza minions
Junko Furuta was the victim of kidnapping, torture, rape, and murder by a teenage boy with connections to the Yakuza.Junko Furuta was a beautiful girl from Misato, Saitama Prefecture and was very popular at yashio minami high school. This case happened in the late 1980s, known by the name of the murder case of a high school girl wrapped in concrete. So-called because Furuta's body was found in a drum containing hundreds of liters of cement. Furuta's beginnings began when a man named Hiroshi Miyano, who had a reputation as a bully and had connections to the Yakuza was attracted to his beauty. Usually Miyano and friends like 'naughty' women, like to drink alcohol, smoke, or take drugs –just like they do. Instead a fine boy like Furuta would be humbled by such a gang, but one day Miyano made an exception, he was attracted to Furuta's paras. Miyano declares love, but Furuta refuses on the grounds that he is not interested in dating.
All this time all the students at the school obeyed Miyano's will, especially if it wasn't for their fear of MiyanoMiyano's Yakuza friends and his Yakuza connections showing off power by spreading and exploiting the fears of others. So furuta's rejection angers Miyano. At night at 8:30 a.m. on November 25, 1988, Furuta came home from his part-time job on a bicycle. Unfortunately at that time Miyano and Nobuharo Minato, his friend, were wandering around Misato to rob and molest local women. They then saw Furuta riding a bicycle. On Miyano's orders, Minato kicks Furuta's bike until the girl falls. Minato then runs away while Miyano pretends to be just coming and offers to drive Furuta home. Furuta didn't refuse. But it turned out that he was directed to a former warehouse not far from the crash site. Miyano begins to launch a threat, showing off power by re-offending his connection with the Yakuza.
By Miyano, Furuta was then taken to the hotel and contacted two of his friends, Jo Ogura and Yasushi Watanabe.Minato followed, and the four took Furuta to Minato's parents' house in Ayase district, Adachi.Miyano and his three friends had a track record of rape of women in a crowded manner. The men told Furuta that they knew where Furuta lived from the notebook in his bag and threatened that the Yakuza would kill his family if he tried to escape. On November 27, Furuta's parents contacted the police because their son had not returned home. Not long ago, there was a call from Furuta.Apparently, to avoid a search by the police, Miyano forced Furuta to lie that he was staying for several days at a friend's place and requested that the police stop the search for him. While at Minato's house, Minato's parents were convicted because Furuta was forced to confess to being the girlfriend of one of the kidnappers. Although not fully believed, Minato's family chose to remain silent for fear of Miyano's Yakuza acquaintances.
Minato is also a teenager who is abusive to his parents. In that house for the next 40 days Furuta repeatedly received torture whose level of cruelty passed through the logic of humanity. Not only by the four men, but his Yakuza friends are often invited to torture Furuta. The japanese court's official report records the torture in detail re-narrated by local mass media. According to the trial report of the case, Furuta was tortured more than 400 times in turn by the men. The school's most popular girl was even subjected to physical violence, often beaten. His body was hung above the ceiling and treated like a punching bag and not infrequently his stomach was hit by a barbell. By the vile men, Furuta was starved, but he was forced to eat live cockroaches or drink his own urine. Some parts of his body were burned, such as hot waxed or burned with cigarettes and matches. Even some parts of his body were mutilated or pricked by sewing needles.
In such brutal conditions, Furuta is forced to masturbate in front of the perpetrators. Unreasonable foreign objects are inserted into his penis and anus resulting in severe bleeding. Approximately sixteen days into Furuta's captivity, there was a man who was intimidated by the perpetrators to make Furuta report the incident to his brother. His brother also asked his parents to call the police and check Minato's house. But two police officers on duty say there are no girls in Minato's house. The two police officers apparently did not check the contents of the house in the belief that the invitation to the examination itself was enough to prove that there were no girls in Minato's house, (at the end of this case both police officers were fired for not carrying out their duties according to procedures). In December 1988, after a month in captivity, Furuta tried to call the police. His attempt failed because he was caught by Miyano. Furuta was then punished, her legs burned while her anus was inserted into a large bottle until she bleeds and convulses. According to reports, during the trial the perpetrators thought that the girl was just pretending to have a seizure so they set her on fire again.
Furuta survived all the torments that kept her from experiencing rape and other torments. Furuta asks that he be killed alone so that his suffering ends. However, the perpetrators refused and instead forced him to sleep on the balcony. In fact, it was winter because of the harshness of the torture, he eventually lost control of his bladder and intestines, Furuta was beaten for soiling the carpet. He also can't eat or drink because he's going to throw up, and of course he's going to get beaten up because of this. Entering January, torture for torture changed Furuta's physical condition. His face swelled and the wounds all over his body began to rot and produced an unpleasant smell. The perpetrators lost their depraved appetites and had time to find other victims to be tortured, although not held captive like Furuta. On January 4, 1989 the perpetrators committed his ordeal again, they beat Furuta with a barbell, kicked and punched, and placed two short candles on his eyelids, burning them with hot candles. They positioned Furuta to stand up and hit his feet with a stick. At this point, he fell. The bleeding was so heavy that pus emerged from his infected burns, the four boys covering their hands with plastic bags.
They continued to beat him and eventually poured liquid into his thighs, arms, face, and stomach and once again burned him. Furuta allegedly made an attempt to put out the fire, but gradually his body became unresponsive. Furuta eventually died after a two-hour attack that day. Fearful of being caught by police, the perpetrators then wrapped Furuta's body in a blanket, placed it on a 208-liter drum, and filled it with wet cement. At 8 p.m., they brought drums to an area called Koto in Tokyo, then dumped them in cement trucks. Several perpetrators were arrested in late January 1989 for the rape of another girl. On March 29, after further interrogation, they confessed to the crimes they committed against Furuta and dragged the other perpetrators. A drum containing Furuta's body was found the next day, on March 30, 1989.
Not long ago, the trial of the case began with bringing all the perpetrators, but the verdict against the perpetrator was felt unfair in the public view, the lightest was a prison sentence of 7 years while the toughest was 20 years. The judge struggled to meet public pressure because the perpetrators were minors. Junko Furuta was buried on April 2, 1989. His family and close friends were there with deep sadness. The tragic story of Junko Furuta, the most beautiful girl in her school, is timeless in novel art, film, and song.
